Job Summary: 


Responsible for overseeing and directing a team of reporting and data analysis associates to support Anthem’s Claims Payment Integrity goals; improper claims payment prevention and recovery; and overall payment integrity efforts.

  1. Develops automated and ad hoc analytics to drive decision making, and establishes Financial Controls and Quality Assurance processes to ensure that financial information is complete and accurate.
  2. Supports establishment of annual financial performance targets.
  3. Partners with leadership to develop and review these targets and performance-to-target.
  4. Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to support business unit information needs and strategic initiatives.
  5. Manages team members both in-office and remote.
  6. Provides leadership in motivating subordinates to accomplish reporting and data analysis goals and objectives.
  7. Develops a strong team through training and effective organizational development practices.
  8. Reports project status and progress to business unit senior management.
  9. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of output and deliverables for assigned functional areas.
  10. Implements the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and business units supported.
  11. Has fiscal responsibility for area budgets.
  12. Establishes relationships with business users both internal and external.
  13. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
  14. Oversees entire reporting/analysis/consulting unit or all aspects of a centralized function.
  15. Participates with other executives to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  16. Makes final decisions for IM function at the business unit level and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives.
  17. Coordinates project management across department & divisional line.
  18. Ability to communicate with customers about technical issues in non-technical terms.
  19. Understands the business processes that the system supports.
  • Requires Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years experience leading project teams.
  • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • SQL and Microsoft Office required.
  • Tableau and SAS preferred.
  • Executive presentation skills required. 
  • Healthcare industry background preferred.
  • Business and financial acumen preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of IM technologies, organizational structure, and customer information needs.
  • Prior leadership or management experience required.
  • Effective communication skills, including facilitation, consultation, negotiation and persuasion.

We offer internships that are 3 months, 6 months and part-time during the school year. Our opportunities are based on business needs and student availability.
