The communications and marketing intern will gain real-world experience and a solid introduction to marketing and communications practices while receiving on-the-job experience supporting the Marketing and Communication Team’s activities. 

 

Under direction of the communications manager, the communications and marketing intern supports the internal communications function by researching, interviewing and editing original and existing materials for a variety of communications channels including associate emails, three associate newsletters and multi-media messaging. The communications and marketing intern will also collaborate with the communications manager to develop the company’s next generation intranet resource. Some light design work will also be under this position’s remit. The intern will be trained in using Salesforce Marketing Cloud to lay out, send and track a wide variety of emails. This role will also be responsible for running and maintaining up-to-date email lists.

 

Under direction of the marketing manager, the intern coordinates development of a variety of advertising and marketing deliverables, including but not limited to:

  • Company briefs
  • Collateral
  • Advertisements
  • Exhibit messaging and signage
  • Company descriptions


Additionally, the position will help establish goals, gather details and coordinate a variety of exhibit-oriented events and measure performance against goals. The intern will also assist in developing an online resource serving business development and business unit personnel.

We are looking for a current undergraduate student with:

A high degree of computer and digital communications literacy

Excellent writing

Editing experience

Organizational skills

Basic project management aptitude

Minimum GPA of 3.0

 

Working knowledge of MS Office is preferred, but training will also be provided.

 

The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in their junior or senior years of their undergraduate studies and will not graduate prior to July 2018.

 

This is a paid position for 20 hours per week of year-round work.

You have to be at least 18 years of age (unless part of an approved/sponsored program) and currently enrolled in an accredited US college or university. For actuarial students, sitting for or having at least one exam completed by the time your interview is an advantage.

We offer internships that are 3 months, 6 months and part-time during the school year. Our opportunities are based on business needs and student availability.
