The Commercial Pricing Intern assists in the determination of rates. Analyzes, develops and validates statistical data.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Under limited supervision, applies the appropriate actuarial analytical tools to the data and performs preliminary actuarial
and statistical analysis.
- Updates actuarial pricing, valuation and forecasting models as directed.
- Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination
within the division.
- Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit
consulting, and special projects.
- Responsible for recommendations on pricing, marketing, product design, claims, premium and enrollment administration
of business unit.
- Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help
identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.
- Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit
consulting, and special projects.
- Responsible for recommendations on pricing, marketing, product design, claims, premium and enrollment administration
of business unit.
- Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help
identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.
- Designs and completes special projects such as developing and maintaining experience-rating formulae and creating
and/or reviewing alternative settlement formulate and risk sharing models.

• Preferred majors include Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related degree.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills required.
• Previous internship preferred, but not required.
• Experience required in the use of MS applications, including Word, Excel and Access.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership ability as evidenced in extra-curricular activities a plus

You have to be at least 18 years of age (unless part of an approved/sponsored program) and currently enrolled in an accredited US college or university. For actuarial students, sitting for or having at least one exam completed by the time your interview is an advantage.

We offer internships that are 3 months, 6 months and part-time during the school year. Our opportunities are based on business needs and student availability.
