Manager, Content Marketing Strategy - IngenioRx - PS23068
Location: Chicago, IL

This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer of IngenioRx and oversees all internal and external content marketing initiatives, with a focus on using content as a strategic asset to support sales and retention activities as well as to drive deeper engagement with key stakeholders. Ultimately, this person should think like a publisher/journalist and will be accountable for leading the development of content initiatives in all forms to drive new and current business.

This is a strategic marketing role and the ideal candidate is an expert in all things related to content and distribution and can drive consistency in brand voice. The person in this role will collaborate with cross functional partners such as corporate communications, human resources, sales and account management, member service, and IT/digital to help define the brand story and voice and weave it through every aspect of the operations.

Specific responsibilities of this role include:
  • Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, mobile, video, print and in-person. buyer persona within the enterprise.
  • Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends both short- and long-term marketing initiatives and brand goals.
  • The development of a functional content calendar that aligns to our selling cycles and moments that matter in the member journey.
  • Supervising writers, editors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.
  • Integration of content activities within traditional marketing campaigns.
  • Conducting ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness. Gathering data and handle analytics (or supervise those who do) and make recommendations based on those results.
  • Working with owners of particular content to revise and measure particular content and marketing goals.
  • Developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the realtime implementation of content strategies.
  • Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers that leads to critical behavioral metrics.
  • Establishing work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience leading multichannel content creation.
  • Proven editorial skills. Outstanding command of English. Multilingual abilities a major plus.
  • Training as a journalist and the ability to tease out a “story” using words, images, audio, and video as well as an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience is critical.
  • Ability to maintain an “outside-in” perspective and consistently put the audience first. 
  • Skill with creating both long-form and short, “digestible” content is key and must be able to create and distribute content on a planned and real-time basis
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must demonstrate strong project management skills: multi-tasking priorities and facilitating/executing multiple programs
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or related communications field is required.
  • An advanced degree (e.g. MBA) is preferred.
