Product Manager Senior - PS19440
Location: This is not a work from home opportunity. The selected candidate must report to the office daily.  The location can be one of the following offices: Roanoke VA; Atlanta, GA; St Louis, MO; Wallingford, CT; New York City, NY; Denver, CO. 
We have an opening for an energetic, success driven Product Manager Senior that will be responsible for the development of products in both new and existing markets. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
  • Evaluates existing products and competitor and industry data to improve existing products and make recommendations for new products.
  • Develops and implements long term profitability strategies for market segment including market positioning, new product design pricing parameters, risk profiles, and legislative/regulatory responses.
  • Coordinates presentation, communication and implementation of all phases of product development.
  • Ensures all products are compliant with regulatory directives and state/federal laws and policies.
  • Serves as a product expert and a relationship manager to the core clients.
  • Conducts competitor analysis of detailed benefits on top competitors in priority markets. Supports Product Managers/Directors as assigned by Staff VP in additional markets.
  • Develops plan recommendations that align to small group segment blueprint and small group product strategy to improve plan performance and enhance Anthem’s competitive position in the market. Assists in identifying low value plan structures and need for new plan structures based on competitive findings.
  • Supports Product Management in designing plans and plan structures to ensure PPACA and federal regulation compliance such as reviews Essential Health Benefits annually across 14 markets.
  • Supports the maintenance of benefit data in the Product Management Tool as needed to assure accuracy and consistency across markets. 
  • Supports Product Management to ensure that business partners understand the intent of their portfolios by serving as Benefit SME and leveraging cross market Plan Structure analysis experience.
  • Leverages insights and prepares recommendations resulting from competitive analysis across markets to identify covered services, benefit and plan structure changes to improve Anthem’s position against top competitor or competitors to assure product competitiveness in the small group market. 
  • Supports small group product transformation efforts by assisting in the development of standard analysis formats to assure consistency in analysis across markets and greater precision in identifying opportunities to improve Anthem’s position and profitability.
  • Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field; 
  • 4 years of product management and product development experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 
  • Experience in design and development of health plans is required.
  • Competitive analysis in a product development role is required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Healthcare experience is required.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, and project management skills.  
  • Travel – up to 25% or less.
