The PBM Pricing Strategy Director (Pharmacy Trend) is responsible for leading, coordinating, and consolidating various impact analyses for management reporting as it relates to Pharmacy trends, and formulating complete insights and recommendations based on analyses
 
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to
  • Provide pharmacy spend/trend insights and diagnostics on specific drivers of trend. Ability to create ad hoc reporting to dive into trend nuances.
  • Produce comparative reports that detail performance relative to other markets
  • Analyze and present actual vs forecasted performance by market and product level to account management and leadership.
  • Develop and manage analytical tools to evaluate business performance
  • Provide analytical support and strategies for Pharmacy programs, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed
  • Support account management through a variety of ad-hoc financial and data analyses, including performance across LOBs, markets, and products, formulary and benefit analyses, provider analysis, cohort studies, as well as other ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Provide analytical support and strategies for Pharmacy programs, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed. 
  • Understand changes in part d benefit and impact on trends
  • Understand proposed policy changes on rebate reform and drug cost reform
  • Bid support 
  • Requires a BA/BS in Finance, Economics, or related field. 
  • 10+ years’ experience with Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM), pricing, data analysis; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.
  • Medicare Part D experience is required.
  • Experience in trend and pricing (ie. MAC, premium) analysis
  • Intermediate level of Excel is required.
  • Experience with SAS and/or SQL is preferred.
  • Requires a candidate with pharmacy experience
  • Experience providing leadership in evaluating financial performance required. 
  • Actuarial background is preferred
