  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Community Health or related, relevant area of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote Anthem’s mission, vision, goals and values 
  • Ten+ years of experience in a leadership level/supervisory capacity with proven strategic and leadership capacity. Strong working knowledge of health disparities, social determinants of health, uncompensated and undercompensated care, community and coalition building, public policy development and advocacy, and/or population health management concepts
  • Superior communication (interpersonal, verbal and written) skills and executive presence, as well as program design and evaluation skills
  • Deep understanding of diverse cultures, communities and upstream social determinants of health
  • Ability to understand social, financial and political issues impacting state/federal level healthcare
  • Able to motivate a wide variety of audiences and across various settings
  • Ability and desire to think creatively and innovatively
  • Proven success in influencing executives and managers.  Display personal agility to work across a wide array of businesses and stakeholders to develop the credibility to achieve results
  • Highly credible leader who, by reputation, will gain the trust and confidence of the business leaders and external partners.
  • Sets compelling goals and shows tenacity, resilience, and bias for action and execution skills in driving towards these goals.
  • Action oriented, hands-on and with demonstrated experience in an innovative, fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
  • Is highly articulate and engenders credibility with everyone s/he interacts with, but, in particular, with executives and associates.  Must be able to influence across all levels of the organization, from staff to the executive level.
  • Leads with a clear, compelling vision and also a view toward supporting the strategic advancement of Anthem’s overall priorities.

Health Care Analytics

The Health Care Analytics (HCA) team focuses on transforming the way data is used within the health care industry. They provide strategic analysis that impacts business decisions, improves efficiency and drives innovation.

As we expand our technology and analytics capabilities, we are searching for associates that have a passion for analytics and the drive to pave the way in a growing industry.

Career opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • Strategy and planning: Ensures strategic alignment between HCA projects and the organization's broader goals. Also integrates analytics strategy into the execution process, including program management, project controls, communications and vendor oversight.
  • Operations: This department houses the HCA shared-services functions including project financial controls and estimations, demand management, user acceptance testing, and coordination and release management.
  • Customer management analytics: Provides accurate, timely and reliable delivery of client reports, which include data analyses, insights and other information that demonstrates Anthem’s value as a business partner.
  • Financial management analytics: Works closely with HCA leaders and other Anthem management to provide support to the finance and accounting teams through financial reporting systems.
  • Member management analytics: This team is responsible for the risk adjustment program and analytics, the member management program, predictive analytics and member management analytic products management.
  • Provider management analytics: Manages Anthem’s unit cost trend, provider contract modeling, network profiling, payment innovation analytic solutions, and other analytics that enable provider collaboration strategies.
  • Research, development and transformational analytics: Works with senior leaders to manage implementations, new product development and provides acquisition support.
