POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for developing specific strategies that helps set the overall direction for the corporation and supporting the planning process, the ideal candidate for this position will ultimately:

 
  • Provide leadership to cross-organizational projects, with varying degrees of depth and continual collaboration enterprise-wide
  • Support various BU leads in developing specific business plans and strategies
  • Assist senior executive leadership in assessing current environment, external factors, competitive landscape, and facilitates development of key strategies
  • Coordinate with the Chief Strategy Office to align BU strategy with Anthem strategies and plans
  • Identify opportunities to coordinate across the business more effectively to optimize value
  • Engage business leaders to identify innovative growth and efficiency opportunities to achieve performance targets and gain market distinction
  • Evaluate strategic options in the context of the corporate strategic direction, financial targets, and market context
  • Help evaluate/re-evaluate ongoing initiatives in to recommend corrective action
  • Support the preparation and facilitation of planning sessions with corporate leadership

The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and experience.  S/he will lead the development and/or refinement of strategic plans for the organizations growth and business development plans in the healthcare services market that will stimulate growth and revenue in support and alignment with our various business strategies.

  • Maximize opportunities to increase revenue and reduce costs.
  • BA/BS in a related field. MBA preferred
  • Requires a strategic thinker with a broad & deep understanding of the health care industry and the
  • ability to develop and execute logical analysis to drive toward key decisions
  • 10+ years of progressive experience with significant large-scale project management, strategic planning and/or consulting in the health care industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, sense of curiosity, and effective problem solving (and be expected to speak to those attributes in interviews)
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, putting structure and “glide path” to broad enterprise initiatives
  • Familiarity evaluating/exploring/integrating market trends
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication, persuasion and negotiation skills required, to include board to front line level audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to set and execute a strategic vision
  • Excellent track record of successful leadership and demonstrated accomplishments, including leading significant change
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, build consensus, and drive change is required
  • Previous merger and acquisition experience is desired.
