Program Director- Human Resources - Early Career and Internship 

This role is charged with the development, planning, prioritization, approval, implementation and compliance of Technology Early Career & Intern Program. Responsibilities include providing strategic direction for the program including review and revision of policies, determination of resource requirements, and incorporation of longer term organization objectives; developing  long-term university relations strategy with targeted schools aligned to the recruitment needs of our business to enhance our presence and improve our recruitment outcomes on selected campuses; and identifying opportunities to establish and/or formalize processes and requirements for the program.

 

Play an impactful and influential role in supporting various Technology leaders as their trusted advisor and HRBP.  Create and implement the end-to-end human capital strategy that will drive the business to meet its goals.

 

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute programs to support Anthem associates, including talent management, career planning, performance management, leadership coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, learning and development, recognition programs and strategic organizational development.
  • Act as trusted confidant and HR partner to various leaders in the Technology Group
  • Ability to develop and execute on HR strategy aligned to the business goals
  • Drive implementation and execution of annual programs such as performance planning, talent review, compensation and incentive planning, D&I efforts, etc.
  • Establishes the overall internship program to include onboarding and developmental and exposure related components as well as program governance, and ensures program meets its stated objectives
  • Ensure early career and internship program is aligned with the strategic needs of the business and current and future talent needs to support the short and long term business strategy
  • Ensure the people leader elements of the program are aligned with Anthem’s competencies, frameworks, and expectations
  • Interact with Anthem Senior Business and HR Leaders to obtain inputs and buy-in regarding the overall direction of the program and ensure program support
  • Interface with internal partners to determine strategic competency and learning objectives that are the foundation of program elements such as action learning projects, coaching, project management, leadership development trainings (e.g., Communication, Setting Expectations, Driving for Results), and development plans
  • Plan and organize kick-off and final presentations of action learning projects with participants and leaders
  • Partner with HR Directors\Managers and Compensation to develop competitive\consistent compensation packages for the program participants
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition campus recruiting team to target desired universities and develop pipeline of talent
  • Annually assist with assessing each Universities' performance to determine overall effectiveness; review analyses with key stakeholders; use data\feedback to make long term decisions related to each school, including conducting research\analysis on school data, demographics, placement statistics, school ratings, competitiveness and peer groups and majors and programs available to help formulate actionable plans to increase hiring success from these schools
  • Serve as Account Manager for each assigned school, includes cultivating relationships with appropriate deans, faculty, career services, admissions office, corporate relations office, student leaders and internal alumni from those schools to enhance outcomes
  • Keep internal client groups abreast of market trends that may impact recruitment strategies and influence stakeholders to ensure Anthem’s competitive positioning
  • Participate in on campus activities as required including but not limited to career fairs, information sessions, on-campus interviews
  • Partner with hiring managers of key functions to understand talent requirements and structure program to meet  evolving talent needs
  • Continue expansion of branding via Social Media (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other social sites)

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree required,
  • 10 + years of experience in external client facing program management, project management; complex business processes, strategic and business planning
  • 5 years of successful experience in Talent Development or Management, or Early Career & Intern program management.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent project management skills, including: prioritization and planning, resource coordination, time management, cost management
  • Proven coaching, developing and people management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization, especially Senior Level Leaders; effective presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking with an ability to paint a vision and execute
  • Committed to diversity of thought, leadership, and hiring practices
  • Must be organized and possess strong ability to multi-task
  • Excellent information management and research skills, with extremely strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A passion for university hiring & internship programs
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to discern scalable talent
  • Strong understanding of current employment regulations and compliance issues
  • Ability to adjusts easily to changes, learns quickly, and understands how internal and external factors impact the overall business decisions
  • Team player who can interact in a constructive, cooperative and harmonious manner with colleagues

  • MBA
  • Previous HRBP Partnership experience with a Technology Group desired
