Location: Norfolk, VA

Project Leader:

The project leader is responsible for developing project plans and leading small projects to completion. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicates progress, issues, and barriers, to internal and external customers.
  • Conducts periodic status meetings.
  • Conducts root cause analysis of processes and issues, identifies and makes recommendations for improvements, and develops documentation.
  • Researches, compiles, extrapolates and validates data used to forecast staffing needs and work flows, and/or resolve quality and other operational issues.
  • Assists in managing project scope to ensure business needs are met and the project scope as defined in the project charter is delivered, identifying, documenting and raising requests for changes from original specifications. Communicate plans, status, and issues within the team, group, or project, including both IT and business members and management. Has basic understanding of project management methodology, tools & processes and able to apply to small projects


Project Leader

Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field; 3 years of experience as a member of a project team, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous or current knowledge/experience with Anthem Inc. systems preferred.
  • Previous experience in a business analyst or other analytical type role preferred.
  • Work experience in the health care industry preferred.
  • Experience managing cross-functional project team preferred.
  • Must have strong prioritization, attention to detail, effective multi-tasking, verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced complex project environment preferred.
  • Proficient using Visio, Microsoft Project and Sharepoint required
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
